I. University Overview

Anhui Science and Technology University (AHSTU) is a provincial public university with a long tradition of academic excellence and a rich cultural heritage. Established in 1950, it began offering undergraduate programs in 1965 and postgraduate programs in 2011. At present, the university has a total enrollment of over 22,000 full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Picturesque Campus Environment:The university operates three campuses. The Fengyang Campus lies in the Ancient Zhongdu Capital of the Ming Dynasty, the hometown of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty.The campus itself is known for its tranquil, leafy setting. The Longhu Campus is located in Bengbu University Town, within easy reach of the University Science Park, Bengbu South Railway Station, and the scenic Longzihu Lake area. The Chuzhou Campus is located in Chuzhou Higher Education and Sci-Tech Innovation City, close to Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, with abundant science and education resources.

Outstanding Faculty Strength:The university employs over 1,400 faculty and staff members, including more than 420 full professors and associate professors.More than 470 of our faculty members hold doctoral degrees. It boasts 11 honorees including National Model Teachers, National Excellent Teachers and Provincial Excellent Teachers, and it is home to 10 scholars recognized in the prestigious National High-level Talents Special Support Program ("Ten Thousand Talents Program"), along with 20 provincial-level academic and technical leaders. It also boasts 31 distinguished teaching teams, 15 scientific innovation teams, and over 80 faculty members honored with provincial Teaching Excellence Awards.

Comprehensive Disciplines and Academic Programs: The university consists of 14 secondary colleges, offering 67 undergraduate programs and 14 master's degree authorization sites.It has 12 provincial-level disciplines including Provincial Key Disciplines, Provincial Peak Disciplines, and Provincial Characteristic Disciplines.It also has 12 national-level programs including National First-class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites, Comprehensive Reform Pilot Programs, Characteristic Programs, Programs under the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, and Pilot Programs under the Reform Plan for Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents Education (Compound and Applied Type).Additionally, it has 46 provincial-level programs including Provincial First-class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites, First-class (Brand) Programs, Comprehensive Reform Pilot Programs, and Characteristic Programs.The university has won 2 Second Prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award, 4 Special Prizes and 14 First Prizes of the Anhui Provincial Teaching Achievement Award.It has been approved for 4 National First-class Courses, and undertaken 5 National Research and Practice Projects on Emerging Engineering Education (Xin Gongke), Emerging Agriculture Education (Xin Nongke), and Emerging Liberal Arts Education (Xin Wenke).

Solid Scientific Research Foundation: The university vigorously promotes scientific research and technological development. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 3,400 scientific research projects at all levels, including projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), among which over 800 are at or above the provincial and ministerial level.It has published more than 80 academic monographs, over 1,200 high-level academic papers, and won more than 80 scientific research awards at or above the municipal and departmental level, including 1 Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award and 1 Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award.The university has bred 48 new plant varieties at or above the provincial level, formulated 37 national, industrial and local standards, and been granted more than 1,900 patents, including over 600 invention patents. It has been listed in the Top 100 Anhui Institutions for Invention Patents for consecutive years.It has also carried out more than 2,400 industry-university-research cooperation projects with local governments and relevant enterprises.

Extensive International Exchanges: The university adheres to the philosophy of open education. It organizes and implements Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, carefully builds the “Study at AHSTU”brand, offers professional master's degree education for international students, actively introduces high-quality overseas educational resources, guides and organizes students to study and tour abroad, has established international scientific research cooperation platforms, and maintains stable exchange and cooperative relations with more than 30 overseas universities and research institutes.

III. Study Mode & Program Duration

Study Mode: Full-time study

Program Duration: The standard length of study is 3 years, with a maximum permitted duration of no more than 5 years.

IV. Application Requirements

1. Basic Requirements

Applicants must abide by the laws, regulations and relevant policies of the People's Republic of China, respect Chinese customs and traditions, be in good physical health, and possess good moral character.

2. Academic Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

3. Language Requirements

All programs for international students are delivered entirely in English. For non-native English speakers, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

- An IELTS Academic score of 5.5 or above;

- A TOEFL iBT score of 80 or above;

- Other valid proof of English proficiency or a short video (minimum 3 minutes) demonstrating your spoken English ability.

- A Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK, Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 2 or above certificate.

V. Fees & Expenses

1. Tuition Fee: RMB 15,000 per academic year

2. Accommodation Fee: RMB 3,000 per academic year per person for double room

3. Other Expenses: Fees for residence permit application, physical examination, health insurance, textbooks, and daily living expenses shall be borne by the applicant.

VI. Admission Procedures

1. Submission of Application Materials

Applicants shall submit the complete application materials in order to the designated email address: icco@ahstu.edu.cn

(1) Completed Application Form (see attachment);

(2) Clear scanned copy of valid passport;

(3) Recent digital passport photo (white background);

(4) Scanned copy of your highest degree certificate, accompanied by a certified English or Chinese translation;

(5) Scanned copy of your academic transcripts, accompanied by a certified English and Chinese translation. The minimum average score required is 70% or equivalent;

(6) Completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form;

(7) Scanned copy of Certificate of No Criminal Record with its Chinese and English translation;

(8) Two letters of recommendation (issued by associate professors or higher academic rank, with the referee’s work unit stated and handwritten signature);

(9) Three-year study plan for the postgraduate program;

(10) For non-native English speakers: English proficiency certificate, or a video of no less than 3 minutes to prove English proficiency, or HSK Level 2 or above certificate;

(11) Bank Deposit Certificate (minimum balance of RMB 30,000).

2. Qualification Review

The School of International Education will organize a panel of experts to conduct a comprehensive qualification review on all submitted application materials.

3. Assessment & Admission Decision

The School of International Education will organize a professional assessment for applicants who have passed the qualification review.

4. Issuance of Admission Documents

Official Letter of Admission and relevant visa documents will be issued to applicants who have passed the assessment.

5. Visa Application

Successful applicants shall apply for a Chinese Study Visa (X1 Visa) at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home country with the official Letter of Admission and JW202 Form.

6. Registration & Enrollment

Registration will take place from August 20 to September 10, 2026. If you are unable to register during this period, you must submit a written request for a deferred start date by September 10. Otherwise, your admission offer may be rescinded.
